[ STAR SWEETS NARITA ]
This is a specialty shop where you can get your hands on some popular sweets. Every season sees a new range of sweet collections that the manager can recommend with confidence, and the shop always delivers fresh, satisfying flavors to our frequent airport customers.

Currently available is N.Y. Caramel Sand, a product that attracts endless lines of customers in the city. Syrupy caramel is drizzled on buttery dough which has been baked with Couverture chocolate and raw sugar. The exquisite blend of flavor unfolds the minute you take a bite.
Don't wait in long lines in town, buy yours here. One of our best kept secrets!
Don't forget that there will be a new range of sweets in August.

[ Tsukiji Gindaco Highball Sakaba ]
You can actually get the familiar taste of Tsukiji Gindaco at Narita Airport too. Enjoy an exhilarating carbonated highball as you eat your fill of piping hot food. Ordering a take-out and sitting on the observation deck eating while watching the planes is just the best!
I talked to Mr. Murashima, the chef, as he grilled the takoyaki octopus dumplings right in front of me.
  • What is the key point about Gindaco takoyaki?
Our takoyaki are crispy on the outside and thick and soft on the inside. We devote a lot of time and effort into the preparation by slowly and carefully mixing our original flower mix with water to get the right consistency. The freshness of the ingredients is important. We only put the freshest ingredients in our pans to fully draw out the flavor.

  • What do you recommend on the menu?
Teritama. It's teriyaki sauce on the takoyaki with a fresh egg salad topping made up here in the shop. It is popular with young children and travelers from overseas and you add Shichimi (seven-flavored spice) to your taste.
You should try fried octopus as an appetizer. The crisp texture of the octopus goes well with beer or a highball.

  • Are there any times when you are relatively quiet?
It is relatively quiet from 10 in the morning until 12 and then from 2 until 4. Please drop in.

  • Would you like to give our customers a message?
Looking to eat casually or share among friends? Gindaco is your place. When leaving Japan or arriving back, why not drop in and relax.

[ TOKYO SHOKUHIN KAN ]
TOKYO SHOKUHIN KAN offers products available only in early summer, airport exclusive products and a wide range of confectionery that can only be purchased here.
At this time of year, we recommend the "orange egg". This is a cute egg-shaped confectionery made from a juicy citrus mixed pasted wrapped in a zesty orange glaze made from blood orange puree and orange peel. While the transparency remains so that the juicy orange flavor can be enjoyed, the glaze finish gives off a concentration of the flavors from the two types of oranges.
Matcha eggs have the elegant flavor and bitterness of green tea mixed with condensed milk paste and dark chocolate.
Products from long established western and Japanese confectionery makers are available as well as local delicacies so do drop in for that perfect souvenir.

Hours : 7:30am - 9:00pm
Location : Terminal 2 Central Building, 4F

[ Nippon CHACHACHA ]
This shop will draw your attention with its line of accessories incorporating good old-fashioned Japanese design plus a contemporary element.
The shopfront displays of the sumo wrestler on top of Mt. Fuji are originals made from rattan. We spoke to Ms./Mr. Aoki, from Souvenir, the company that operates Nippon CHACHACHA where attention to detail can be seen everywhere.
  • What are your product recommendations?
The handkerchiefs and purses which are carefully crafted from materials made in Japan. The handkerchiefs, for example, are designed in Kyoto, manufactured in Hyogo and embroidered in Nara so their development is rooted in regional industry.
We recommend the handkerchief with the aircraft pattern. It is exclusive to Narita Airport, reasonably priced and an ideal souvenir.
The fabric on the purses is also produced in Japan. The most popular purses are those with the cute maneki-neko, daruma and ninja motifs. You can also customize them yourself by attaching an aircraft charm.

  • What kind of customers do you see most?
Of course, the Narita store sees more foreign customers than any of our directly owned shops. The 'Made in Japan' aspect is probably particularly attractive. Of course, we also recommend "Made in Japan" items to Japanese travelers taking souvenirs abroad.

  • Would you like to give our customers a message?
We have a large range of cute, Japanese-made accessories just for you!

[ PRESS BUTTER SAND ]
With a thick butter cream and smooth, melt-in-the-mouth caramel sandwiched in a crunchy cookie texture, PRESS BUTTER SAND brings back memories of a taste and texture that offers the simple pleasure of the delicious flavor of real butter.
PRESS BUTTER SAND gourmet shops are increasingly popular in Tokyo and one has now opened on the 4th floor of Terminal 2 in Narita Airport.
"Use better ingredients and devote the time." This is the commitment behind the single product sold by PRESS BUTTER SAND's Terminal 2 shop at Narita Airport.
With the fashionable packaging of a grey box and vivid orange seal, this product is the ideal way of saying "Congratulations" or "Thank You" but it is also a great way of rewarding yourself. Enjoy!

[ FaSoLa Cafe coffee & beer ]
A great cafe or bar located in NARITA SKY LOUNGE WA which links the main and satellite buildings in Terminal 2. The menus of pasta, pizza, etc. will fill any stomach.
The key advantage of this location is that has an excellent view overlooking the apron area.
We spoke to the sub-manager, Ms. Tsuji.
  • What do you recommend on the menu?
The Premium Cheese Chorizo Dog. This is not just a chorizo dog with cheese; the cheese is actually inside the chorizo! Our premium soft-serve ice cream, Cremia, is also very popular and we sell around a hundred a day. You can also add a topping. I also recommend a float made with the Cremia in a soft drink.

  • How do you recommend spending time at FaSoLa Cafe coffee & beer?
Relaxing with the aroma of coffee as you sit on one of the sofas out the front or at the bar while you watch the aircraft.
We have large sofas where you can sit and relax and chairs with power outlets for recharging equipment. We are located on the way to the gates so you can sit and relax or just come for take-out.

  • Would you like to give our customers a message?
We have a great menu for you with coffee, alcoholic drinks and snacks and, of course, our popular Cremia. Drop in and spend some time before your departure.

[ Relaxation Space Raffine ]
While flying is exciting, sitting in the same position for long hours stresses the body. We recommend a massage from Raffine before you board that flight. With a massage to get the blood circulating before you board your aircraft, the long flight might be just that bit more enjoyable.
At Relaxation Space Raffine, you can free up the mind and the body and spend time in luxurious relaxation with reflexology, body care, facial therapy or one of the other services.
Raffine means "sophisticated" in French.
Refresh your entire body with Raffine's most popular 60-minute body-care course which directly relaxes the muscles and pressure points in the entire body. There are also short courses that are perfect for preflight relaxation.

We also recommend a refreshing treatment after arriving at the Raffine facility in the public area.
Raffine looks forward to serving you.

[ Extra : GALLERY TOTO ]
TOTO is synonymous with restroom. Yes but, a gallery? That could be confusing. In fact, Narita Airport has a location something like a gallery to show off Japan's prowess at restroom sophistication and technological advances.

The location is just in front of Raffine Relaxation Space. The area is marked by colorful illumination and stylish glass walls that look nothing like a restroom. The walls are actually monitors and they are currently screening sporting themes to highlight the Rugby World Cup to be held in Japan in 2019 and the Olympics and Paralympics to be held in 2020.
There are four male and four female restrooms as well as a nursing room and all have different interior decor. In fact, the actual toilet fixtures and wash basins are different too and behind each door is a surprise. All are new restrooms that are so clean it seems a shame to use them. Try them next time you are leaving from Terminal 2.

Location : Connecting corridor between the main and satellite buildings in Terminal 2
Besides those introduced here, the terminal is full of unmissable shops and spots!
When traveling via Narita, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to walk around and explore the airport.

Note from the editor
Well, what are your plans for the rainy season? I had lots of fun things planned but had to cancel because of the weather and, even when it is fine, it is too humid. This is actually not my favorite season. I used to like it a long time ago because I got to use my favorite umbrella....
However, I went to see some hydrangeas the other day and it made me think that perhaps the rainy season is not too bad after all. I will just have to find something fun to do and ride the season out.
Still, let's hope it's gone by the time our next edition comes out!
