Editor's Recommendation! Information on restaurants and events in the passenger terminals!
"What's the situation at the airport?" "What shops are open right now?" These are some of the questions we receive, so in response to this, we would like to highlight some of our recommended shops in Narita Airport that are operating at present. The restaurants in this issue are located in the public areas before passport control in Terminals 2 and 3.
After the restaurants, we also have some event information so make sure you read to the end!
TSURUHAN at Terminal 2
Our first restaurant is Tsuruhan Noodles. Tsuruhan specializes in udon and soba noodles with a smooth texture and Kansai-style broth made from dried bonito and kelp using the restaurant's own original method. In addition to the standard udon and soba menu selections, Tsuruhan also has a wide variety of rice bowl choices and more, so you can enjoy a variety of menu items to suit your mood in a relaxed atmosphere!
By the way, do you know the origin of the restaurant's name? "Tsuru" comes from the expression "tsurutsuru" which means "to slide smoothly down the throat" and "han" is used to express the elegance of Kansai-style dashi!
- I spoke with the staff member, Ms. Yamazaki.
What menu items do you recommend?
Plum chicken and egg udon or soba noodles with a fluffy egg in a starchy sauce topped with a large Kishu Nanko plum! An egg in a starchy sauce flavored with a rich dashi is mixed thoroughly with the noodles and the sourness of the plum makes it a delicious dish. They'll warm the cockles of your heart during the cold winter months!
Do you have a message for our customers?
We offer udon and soba noodles, a traditional Japanese dish, at Narita Airport, the gateway to Japan. We'd love for you to stop by!

Business Hours : 11:00-19:30 (L.O.)

Sendai Tanya Rikyu at Terminal 3
Next is Sendai Tanya Rikyu, which opened in Terminal 3 in August last year. The beef tongue is carefully prepared at the hands of skilled craftsmen who do all the slicing, seasoning and aging.
Your editor frequents this place often and the beef tongue has such a flavorful chewy texture that you could eat it forever!(Laughs) No matter which menu you choose, your stomach will definitely be filled with happiness. You'll feel like you're really in Sendai even though you're at the airport!
- I spoke with the restaurant's manager, Mr. Kadowaki.
What menu items do you recommend?
We recommend the classic Gyu Tan Teishoku (Beef Tongue Set), which will let you enjoy the thick, juicy beef tongue to the fullest, as well as the Gyu Tan Nishu Mori Don (2 Kinds of Beef Tongue in a Large Rice Bowl), a Narita Airport exclusive where you can enjoy both thick and thin slices of beef tongue!
Do you have a message for our customers?
A specialty restaurant from the city of Sendai, the home of beef tongue dishes. Enjoy the fragrant aroma of delicious grilled beef tongue!

Thank you for reading to the end of this month's issue.
The other day I went camping for the first time. It was wonderful to experience the changing of the seasons in the slightly chilly air. The days are getting colder and particularly the mornings and evening so please take care. See you next month!
