Special feature
Experience the Excitement of International Travel and the Behind-the-Scenes Airport Activities!
This feature spotlights "Experience the Excitement of International Travel DE Charter! - Singapore -" and the optional "Narita Airport Special Bus Tour" at Narita Airport on December 5 (Sat).
What is "Experience the Excitement of International Travel DE Charter! - Singapore -"?
"Experience the Excitement of International Travel DE Charter! - Singapore -" charter flight from Narita Airport departed with the full cooperation of the Singapore Tourism Board to provide participants with a taste of the excitement of travel during these difficult times when international travel is not so easy.
Prior to departure, participants underwent a simulated "passport control" and were then able to have a photo with an image of Singapore's famous Merlion at the boarding gate. Once onboard the JAL aircraft, passengers enjoyed in-flight meals featuring Singaporean cuisine and had chances to win air tickets and other wonderful prizes in raffles.
There was also the optional Narita Airport Special Bus Tour. Participants were drawn by lottery with 10 times more applications than space available on the flight and a whopping 25 times more than seating on the optional tour. It was a delight to see so many people wanting to experience the enjoyment of travel. Thank you to all those who applied.
To those who applied but were not able to take part, please try again next time.
Optional Tour Behind the Scenes at the Airport!?
The Narita Airport Special Bus Tour took place before boarding the charter flight and took participants behind the scenes at Narita Airport which is normally not available to the public.
They were first shown the Central Ramp Tower which just opened this year, and enjoyed a 360 degree panoramic view of the airport from an angle that is not normally available. This tour provided the first opportunity for the public to enter the facility.
From there, the tour moved on to Narita's 4,000-meter runway, the longest in the country, where they were able to watch the awe-inspiring aircraft land and take off from close range. Narita Airport staff provided the explanations on the day to a keenly interested audience. At the end of the tour, many of the participants commented that it was better than they expected and they would love to do it again.
Although we are doing our best to describe this event, it is far more exciting to actually take part. Applications have already closed for the next Taiwan event (Japanese) on January 16 but there will be other events so please check it out!
Yesterday, Narita Airport also tied up with "Ouchi Sokutabi-Christmas Finland Special-" (Japanese) offering the enjoyment of Finland in the Christmas season online along with Scandinavian products and travel guides that arrive at your home in advance.
We will continue to provide more information on various events to bring to you the excitement of travel.
