Narita Airport Awarded World's Highest "5 Star Airport" Rating!
What is about SKYTRAX's rating?
The auditors of SKYTRAX, UK-based air transport rating organization, audit 800 items from a passenger perspective by category, including airport facilities and services. Each category and overall rating are rated from 1 Star to 5 Stars. At Narita Airport, JAPAN FOOD HALL, a new food court established last year, as well as universal design initiatives and customer service by airport staff, were highly praised.
JAPAN FOOD HALL, with a great view from the terrace seats
JAPAN FOOD HALL opened in September 2023 on the 2nd floor of the Main Building of Terminal 2 (the area after passport control). It is a food hall featuring 10 Japanese famous restaurants where visitors can enjoy Japanese food culture. It is a high-quality space designed based on the concept of "Japanese modern," and boasts a panoramic view of many aircrafts.
Our staff members recommend the fruit sandwiches at FRUITPARLOR Mi'z. The colorful fruits are sparkling, beautiful, and almost too good to eat! If you are traveling from Terminal 2, be sure to stop by!

Universal Design
At Narita Airport, universal design has been adopted to ensure a comfortable stay for various passengers. One such example is the "Quiet rooms" in each terminal. These rooms have been set up with the aim of actively encouraging people with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and mental disorders and their families to travel in the air. These rooms are places where people who have difficulty with sound, light, and eye contact can reduce stress by entering these rooms. We sometimes receive comments from our customers that they are greatly helped by having such a space prepared for them, and such compliments are a great encouragement for us.

Attractive seating area in collaboration with furniture manufacturer
In collaboration with furniture manufacturers, the terminal buildings have seating areas with a variety of furniture to meet the diverse needs of customers.
The seating areas are designed to provide a comfortable place for passengers to spend time before boarding, with businessperson working on their computers and families relaxing on the sofas and are used according to the individual needs of each passenger.

Did you know? A piece of trivia
Demonstration Experiment of Ride-Along Car Rental
Narita Airport is currently conducting a demonstration experiment to ascertain the access needs of customers using Narita Airport by offering a one-way car rental service between Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Shin-Yokohama, Omiya, and Narita Airport. When using international flights, it is difficult to move around with suitcases. We are currently confirming the effectiveness of this service as a service that matches the needs of customers with small children, the elderly, and others who wish they could travel by car.

Always for our customers!
"CS Award", honoring Narita Airport staff
The sincere service at the information counter and the professional customer service of the airport staff were also major points in the evaluation of Skytrax. With the aim of improving the service, Narita Airport is implementing various initiatives to improve the hospitality skills and motivation of airport staff. One of these initiatives is the CS Award, which recognizes staff who provide excellent service, and has been awarded to approximately 700 airport staff in its 20-year history.

The total number of staff working at Narita Airport is approximately 36,000 (as of February 2023). Each of staff takes pride in working at Narita Airport, the gateway to Japan. In the coming era, services will be increasingly automated and mechanized, but as "Team NRT," we will continue to cherish the spirit of hospitality and deliver a memorable airport experience for our customers!
